Who can do this with default user permissions?
School Network Level Administrators, School Network Staff, School Level Administrators
If you are a school level administrator, you can only inactivate students who are enrolled in your school.
These steps explain how to make one student inactive, but you can inactivate multiple student records.
- On the Home page, select your initials in the upper-right corner. In the drop-down list, select Manage Apps & Users.
- Select Users.
-
Search for the student you want to make inactive.
If necessary, select the drop-down list and choose whether to search all students or only those in a specific school, year, or class or those with a specific teacher. (The options that are available depend on your role in the software.)
To find a specific student, enter the student's name, ID, and/or user name. You do not need to enter the entire name or ID; the software can find partial matches based on what the name, user name, or ID starts with. If you include a space in what you are searching for, the software assumes you are looking for a first name and last name (such as "John Smith"). If you enter a last name first and then a first name, include a comma (such as "Smith, John"). This is especially helpful if you are using a last name that includes a space. If you want to see the student's class enrolment information in the results, tick Include class enrolments below the search options. Select Search.
- The students who matched your search will be listed. Select the name of the student you want to make inactive. (If the list is long, you may need to select the arrows under the search results to move forward and back through the list.)
- You will go to the Student Information page and the Details tab. Select Inactivate Student.
- The Inactivate Student message will ask if you are sure that you want to make the student inactive.
Select Inactivate Student to continue or Cancel if you decide not to make the student inactive. - A message at the top of the page will notify you that the student has been inactivated.
You can reactivate student records that have been made inactive.
